About

About

Though small in stature, the 26 year old Kari Rowe leaves a big mark on all who meet her. From the age of 12 she was enamored with the world of photography. She grew up surrounded by the bright lights of the studio. And her heart has never left . “When I moved away from home I found at least 5 boxes of photos I had shot as a kid, walking around with my holga glued in hand.”
She graduated high school with her associates degree in photography, traveled until her pockets were empty, and returned home with her career in mind. Shortly after returning to the small town of Vashon Island she picked up and moved to Portland rocked the graphic design program at PSU, and squeezing her way into the heart of nemo.

She was the full time studio photographer for 7 years and the manager, producer, art buyer, art director for the last 2 at nemo productions in Portland or. She has currently embarked on her own as a freestyle photographer and fashion blogger.
When asked what advice she would give other young aspiring artists and photographers, she replies “talent cant be taught but the programs surely can. Learn it all, technology is your ally, but don’t rely solely on it. Film is the true heart of photography and you can’t ever change that. Oh, and passion goes a long way.”
